About the role:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They'rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leather seats and many more optional extras to make sureyou'recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou'llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

If you wantadditionalhours, you can have them, and we offer enhanced rates of pay for bank holidays.

You'll be joining a friendly team - our drivers often stay with us for many years (we treat them well!) soyou'llbe joining a friendly team who support each other - including sharing traffic updates through WhatsApp!

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon'tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You'llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you'llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You'llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.

You will make sure everything is 'right first time' for your customers, both internal and external, and as a great communicator,you'llwork hard to keep customers happy, making sure any queries youcan'tanswer, are passed on to your site manager quickly.

The ideal candidate will have:

Class 1 Driving licenceas a minimum
Driver CPC qualification card
Completed required DCPC training hours or be working towardsthem
Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws - and commitment to safe use of the roads
A 'can do'attitude
