A small asset manager is looking for a junior assistant. No experience or degree needed.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable
• Oversee and process invoices and employee expense claims through the designated accounts payable platform. • Enter all received invoices into the financial system, ensuring alignment with relevant purchase order references. • Accurately code all journal entries within the system for integration into the general ledger. • Manage and execute regular supplier payments. • Maintain and update the supplier database. • Generate reports for scheduled payment runs. • Coordinate weekly payment batches across multiple office locations, including the UK, US, and Asia.

Balance Sheet Reconciliation & Financial Controls
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, addressing and resolving outstanding items. • Maintain daily updates of cashbooks. • Perform weekly bank reconciliations with the general ledger. • Manage the fixed asset register, including calculating and posting depreciation. • Create and maintain schedules for prepayments and accruals across all business entities at month-end. • Compile and post journals to the general ledger, ensuring supporting documentation and audit trails are in place.

Management Reporting
• Analyze expense account variances on a monthly basis. • Produce detailed breakdowns of key cost categories (e.g., travel, legal) for inclusion in management accounts. • Revenue & Fee Invoicing • Prepare and issue client billing for management and fund services. • Maintain income allocation schedules based on invoice data for internal reporting. • Support client services teams with fee-related audit queries. • Calculate and post revenue accruals at each month-end.
