C++ Software Engineer required for 12 to 18 month contract working on a development of an edge processing solution aimed at transforming data for fiber optic sensors to actionable insights through algorithms. This contract is outside IR35 and would suit a skilled and experienced C++ Software Engineer with experience of server side C++ applications and databases, interfacing Front End Systems and Python modules.

The role requires the following technical skills and experience -

Strong knowledge of modern C++ (C17+)

Experience with Python/Matlab; data signal processing, geophysics, seismicity

Knowledge and understanding of service architectures; REST APIs, WebSocket, databases, containers, cloud services (AWS, Azure).

Understanding and expertise in modern software development; version control (Git), bug tracking, test frameworks, documentation and design, dev-ops/containers etc.

Familiarity with modern frontend concerns; Javscript, Svelte, Typescript,Angular.

Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to design scalable systems, and experience in agile methodologies.

The client is based in just north of London, candidates can work remotely, but ideally should be in or around Central or North London or prepared and able to get to Elstree for meetings if required. This would be on an occasional, but not regular basis, and you will have notice of the dates.

This is a great long term contract opportunity for a C++ Software Engineer to work on a cutting edge platform. You should have very technical communication skills, and be able to contribute to system architecture, code optimization, troubleshooting issues and working in a small development team.
