Responsibilities

The Histotechnologist functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for pre-analytical specimen preparation and processing, embedding, microtomy, and maintaining the equipment under the direction of the Histology/Pathology department leadership, Pathologist, or designee. The position may also perform specimen grossing of surgically removed tissue under the supervision of the Pathologist.

Other duties may arise and be carried out as assigned to meet quality standards expected for patient care.
All duties performed will be within the guidelines set forth by regulatory and hospital guidelines to maintain, manage, and assure specimen integrity.

Qualifications

Job Requirements :

Bachelor's in histotechnology, laboratory science obtained from an accredited institution, OR bachelor's in biology or chemistry with education /training equivalent.

Preferred Job Requirements:

Experience within a clinical or anatomic pathology department.
6 months' experience as a Histotechnician.

Pay Range Minimum: $29.48/Hr.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
