The Role:
As a Senior Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for the microscopic analysis of bulk asbestos samples in accordance with HSG248 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards. You will support the Laboratory Manager with quality assurance, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the lab operates efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct bulk sample analysis and fibre identification in line with the P401 qualification.
Ensure all results are recorded accurately and reported promptly.
Maintain high standards of quality control and contribute to UKAS compliance.
Assist in training and mentoring junior analysts and technicians.
Support the Laboratory Manager in audits and day-to-day operations.

Requirements:

BOHS P401 qualification (Essential)
Minimum 2 years' experience analysing bulk asbestos samples
Strong knowledge of HSG248 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
Experience in a UKAS-accredited laboratory (preferred)
Strong team player with a proactive approach to problem solving

About You:

BOHS P401
