Index Technology Lead

We are seeking an experienced Index Technology Lead to oversee the design, automation, and delivery of our clients index calculation and reporting systems.

This consultant will lead the modernization of our index technology stack, eliminating manual workflows, improving performance visibility, and delivering scalable, client-facing solutions.

The resource will require a strong technical background, experience in financial indices, and proven leadership in delivering technology transformation projects.

Key Requirements

Technical Expertise
- Strong background in financial index construction, calculation, or benchmark products.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel/VBA (experience with Helios or similar platforms strongly preferred).
- Understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-driven solutions, particularly in client query handling, a plus.
Leadership & Delivery
- 8+ years' experience in financial technology, with at least 3 in a leadership or senior developer role.
- Proven track record of delivering automation and process optimization projects in finance.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (Operations, Product, Audit, and Client Services).
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance technical depth with strategic vision.
- Self-starter with problem-solving mindset and focus on operational excellence.

Preferred Background

Experience in index providers, asset management, investment banks, or financial data vendors.
Prior work with index/benchmark calculation engines, pricing data, or market data systems.
Knowledge of regulatory and audit requirements for financial indices.
