Firewall Engineer

This company is seeking innovative individuals who are passionate about driving meaningful growth in a dynamic market. The company is located in the D.C. Area and will be remote local with 10% travel to DC for Major Meetings.

What You Will Be Doing:

Administer and maintain firewalls, including performing upgrades, managing policies, and validating configurations.
Demonstrate expertise in multiple firewall platforms, particularly Check Point and Palo Alto.
Evaluate and implement changes that align with current firewall policies and procedures.
Keep technical documentation current and aligned with operational standards.
Oversee and optimize additional cybersecurity tools, including IDS/IPS, URL Filtering, Application Control, Antivirus, and Advanced Malware Detection systems.
Provide after-hours support for maintenance windows, outages, or upgrade activities as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years of experience in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
4+ years of hands-on experience configuring and managing enterprise-level firewalls (Check Point, Palo Alto).
Strong grasp of firewall rules, security policies, and overall security operations.
Solid networking foundation and platform knowledge to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.
Skilled in packet capture analysis, with the ability to troubleshoot traffic and latency issues across all layers of the OSI model.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities, with regular updates provided to leadership on task progress.

Clerance Requirement:

Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance is required. Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis now and in the future.
