Title: System Administrator
Location: Hybrid - Herndon, VA
Pay: 80-90k/year
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to manage and maintain our IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on Windows Server environments, virtualization, and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with VMware, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Cisco/Meraki networking. Certification in Microsoft technologies is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows Server environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
- Manage VMware environments including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi, with a focus on backup and recovery using Veeam.
- Support and optimize Microsoft 365 and Azure services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure AD.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco and Meraki networking devices, including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Apply security best practices and assist with patch management and system updates.
- Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning and improvements.
- Create and maintain documentation related to systems configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to support end-users and ensure system reliability.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator or similar IT infrastructure role.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Windows Server administration.
- Proficiency with VMware technologies (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi) and Veeam backup/recovery.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and experience working with Cisco and Meraki devices.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
