We’re hiring a Business Data Analyst with a versatile background spanning data engineering, business systems, and analytics. In this role, you’ll act as a vital connector between technical teams and business stakeholders, enabling digital transformation through clean, well-documented data pipelines, actionable insights, and system/process documentation.

Contract duration: 6 months

Required Skills & Experience

4+ years of professional experience in data analysis, development, or database management
Strong SQL expertise with hands-on experience using relational databases such as SQL Server or Oracle
Familiarity with data modeling, ETL development, and warehouse architecture
Demonstrated ability to convert business needs into effective technical solutions
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities
Strong communication and presentation skills, especially in executive-facing contexts
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Self-starter who thrives in a cross-functional, fast-paced setting

Desired Skills & Experience

Experience working in transaction-heavy environments like transportation, tolling, or fintech
Knowledge of cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
Basic scripting skills in Python, R, or similar languages
Understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile workflows
Experience collaborating with external partners or third-party vendors

What You Will Be Doing
Tech Breakdown

50% Data Analysis, Reporting & Dashboard Development
25% Gathering Business Requirements & Process Documentation
15% Supporting Testing, UAT, and Training Creation
10% Strategic Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

Daily Responsibilities

Conduct deep-dive analysis of large data sets to guide business decisions
Create data validation processes and reinforce data governance
Facilitate user testing, training sessions, and system documentation
Proactively identify areas for process optimization and digital upgrades
Translate complex business problems into technical data solutions
Act as a liaison among IT, business teams, and external collaborators
