Move Forward with Volt Volt is immediately hiring Senior Software Engineer in Aurora, CO. As Senior Software Engineer, you will:
We are looking for Senior Software Engineer to support our teams in Aurora, CO. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. In this role, you will use your solid foundation in Java and experience working in a Linux environment to comprehend customer needs and translate those needs into viable design solutions. What You Will Do:
• Develop and maintain Java-based backend applications for satellite ground systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement robust server-side solutions.
• Modify and improve existing codebases for enhanced performance and scalability.
• Conduct software design and code reviews, integrating best practices and innovations.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to Agile principles.
• Participate in system integration and project milestone completion under guidance from supervisors.
• Keep abreast of advancements in Java and related technologies to drive continuous innovation. What You Will Learn
• Modern DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.
• Software lifecycle practices for defense projects.
• The importance and workings of satellite ground systems. This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity. This position requires Active Secret Clearance. The Ideal candidate will have:
• A bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and six (6) years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience with Java software development (or other object-oriented software language) in a Linux environment. Qualifications We Prefer:
• Java strongly preferred.
• Experience with C++ and Python.
• Experience working with the Atlassian Tool suite.
• Experience developing software in an Agile and/or DevOps environments.
• Previous work satellite GPS software desirable.
• Experience troubleshooting or debugging software.
• Experience with unit and automated functional test concepts.
• Experience with some area of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models. Pay Range: $85.00 - $95.00 per hour. Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. Qualified candidates should APPLY NOW for immediate consideration!
