Production Artist (Technical Schematics) Location: Hybrid in Beaverton, OR (M-Th onsite; Fri remote)

The Planet Group is looking for a
Production Artist (Technical Schematics) to join our well-known retail brand on a 4-month contract! This role is 40 hours per week and will be hybrid onsite in Beaverton, OR. This person will report directly to the Production Art Studio Sr. Manager, while working in collaboration with fellow Apparel and Graphic Production Artists.
Production Artist? (Technical Schematics) Responsibilities:
- Create original graphic designs that appropriately reflect the Brand's design ethos.
- Assist with ideation, concept development, and branding.
- Lead team projects and works independently to complete individual projects, including but are not limited to the development of print, packaging, 3-D retail displays, event signage, logo systems, imagery, video, and collateral materials.
- Work with functional teams from initial concept development to final production and distribution.
- Manage individual projects beginning with internal briefings, managing timelines, and scheduling work-back schedules, budget management, supplier coordination, reviewing specs, recommending production alternatives, and maintaining quality production standards.
- Manage both individual projects as well as groups of projects to stay within stated budgets.
- Estimate all aspects of project development and offer production alternatives to provide the best product within the defined budget.
- Negotiate costs, reviews billing and provides budget reconciliation.
- Arrange the purchasing of goods and services from domestic and international vendors.
- Develop vendor evaluation criteria; evaluates vendors.
- Act as a liaison among Company managers and outside agencies.
- Communicates project details, design requirements, scheduling needs, and graphic materials.
Production Artist? (Technical Schematics) Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- Minimum of 5 years directly relevant work experience - graphic design and creating technical design schematics
- Creating technical images, using 3D tools like CLO and Lotta (or similar tools), creating files that go to manufacturers to create apparel product
- Less artist and more technical minded
- Screen printing experience a plus
