Job Title: Senior Accounting Consultant
Location: Montrose, CO (Hybrid - In office)
Industry: Accounting
Pay: $45 - $60 per/hour DOE
Responsibilities:
- Review and approve month-end journal entries related to revenue, expenses, accruals, and reclasses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Analyze and validate contractual allowances for inpatient and outpatient services, collaborating with revenue cycle teams to ensure proper recognition.
- Support and oversee month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies in key accounts.
- Assist with year-end audit preparation, including compiling schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Provide guidance on accounting treatment for complex healthcare transactions, including third-party reimbursements and grant funding.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, billing, and clinical teams to ensure alignment of financial data and operational activity.
Requirements;
- 3+ years of accounting experience in a Hospital system
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance highly preferred
- Advanced Excel required, Meditech software experience preferred
