Financial Analyst 3
Expected Contract Duration: 12 Months
Hybrid: Birmingham Alabama (4 days onsite)
Pay:$50-58/hr

Must Haves:

5–10 years of experience in financial analysis or related roles
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros)
Strong corporate financial evaluation capabilities
Experience with cost reporting, forecasting, and budget monitoring
Ability to validate invoices, expenditures, and change requests
Experience with statistical analysis and financial modeling
Ability to reconcile transactions and correct data discrepancies

Preferred:

Technology project experience
Experience supporting large-scale technology implementations
Familiarity with quality management and process improvement
Experience working with internal teams and external vendors

Job Description:
Our client in the utilities space is seeking a Financial Analyst III to support multiple large-scale technology implementation initiatives. The primary responsibility of this role is the financial evaluation and validation of actual charges versus budget, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring 5–10 years of financial analysis experience, advanced Excel skills, and a strong background in forecasting, cost reporting, and budget monitoring. This is a mostly onsite role with some flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide analytical support for multiple large technology projects
Perform financial evaluation and validation of actual charges vs. budget
Prepare cost reports, including forecasts and outlooks Monitor project accounting and financial status
Develop presentations, process documentation, and other project support materials Identify and implement cost management process improvements
Compare and analyze actual results vs. plans and forecasts Guide the cost analysis process by enforcing policies and procedures
Recommend actions based on trend analysis and variance monitoring
