Job #: Apex Systems is currently hiring for a Senior Network Engineer to support our large federal client supporting the US Navy here in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Project Details / Mission Supported: • Our large govt integrator is hiring a Network Security Engineer for the Service Management, Integration and Transport (SMIT) Contract, supporting the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI).
• This role involves advanced support of enterprise Firewall, DMZ, IPS, and VPN appliances Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills: • B.S. Degree and 8-12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6-10+ years of prior relevant experience
• Minimum of DoD 8570.01 IAT Level III Certification: ex: CCNP Security.
• A Network Vendor Certification: ex: Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, F5, Palo Alto, McAfee, Trellix.
• Network Security Subject Matter Expertise.
• Ability to Perform highly technical network security maintenance and configurations.
• Extensive experience troubleshooting networks, including routing, switching, MPLS, VPNs, routing protocols, switching protocols, and multicast.
• Effective written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to rotate on-call and work during off-hours to meet program requirements.
• Ability to travel up to 25% including OCONUS potential travel. Location: Pearl Harbor Naval Station, Hawaii

Clearance Level: Minimum of an active DOD Secret Clearance
