Camden Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm 100 per day Full-Time (Academic Year)
A highly regarded primary school in Camden is seeking a dedicated Classroom Support Assistant (CSA) to join their specialist Centre for Autism for the full academic year.
The Centre provides 30 places for children aged 4-11 with Autism, offering a nurturing, structured and therapeutic environment. Each classroom is staffed by one teacher and three to four Child Support Assistants, maintaining an excellent 1:2 adult-to-student ratio to ensure high-quality, personalised support.
About the Provision:
The Centre adopts a therapeutic and low-arousal approach, with teachers working closely alongside:
Behaviour - including behaviour that challenges - is understood as a form of communication. In the short term, the focus is on de-escalation and regulation. In the long term, the team works to understand the root causes of dysregulation and teaches pupils more effective ways to communicate and have their needs met.
All CSAs are expected to fully embrace and consistently apply this empathetic and reflective approach.
