Summary

The Construction Project Manager Intern supports the execution of Buckle construction projects, including new store openings, remodels, and relocations. This internship will provide hands-on experience in construction project management within a fast-paced retail environment.

Project Coordination and Support

  • Assist Project Managers with daily project activities.
  • Coordinate communication between internal teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Maintain project files, logs, and documentation.

Construction Administration

  • Assist with reviewing drawings, specifications, and contractor submittals.
  • Support change order tracking and documentation.
  • Help manage Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Assist with contract and compliance documentation.

Budgeting and Cost Control

  • Track project costs and expenditures.
  • Assist with invoice review and approval processes.
  • Support budget updates and cost reporting.
  • Help identify potential cost impacts or variances.

Scheduling and Planning

  • Assist in developing and updating construction schedules.
  • Monitor progress against timelines and flag delays.
  • Help coordinate inspections, deliveries, and critical path activities.

Site Support and Field Activities

  • Participate in site visits and progress meetings.
  • Observe construction activities to understand sequencing and safety practices.
  • Assist with punch list development and closeout activities.
  • Help ensure site documentation is current and complete.

Reporting and Communication

  • Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and status reports.
  • Assist with presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate communication records and action-item tracking.

General

  • Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Key Competencies

  • Coursework or experience related to construction or project management.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings and terminology.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).
  • Interest in retail or commercial construction.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Teammate regularly works in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
