Senior Full Stack Engineer - Python, React, Typescript, Fast API - Healthcare

London Remote first Outside IR35 3 Month FTC

An early-stage, AI-led health tech company is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help build the core patient-facing platform that supports conversational screening, care routing and access to behavioural healthcare services. You will be joining a small, high-calibre team where engineering plays a central role in shaping the product from the ground up.

This is a hands-on role focused on delivering high-quality user experiences in React and TypeScript while building and extending the Python/FastAPI services that power the platform. You will work closely with product and design to translate Figma concepts into production-ready interfaces such as real-time chat experiences, booking journeys and personalised care flows, ensuring they feel intuitive while meeting the demands of a regulated environment.

On the backend, you will develop and extend FastAPI services, design clean REST APIs, and work with PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy to manage structured data. You will also contribute to implementing OAuth2 authentication across the stack to enable secure handling of sensitive patient information. The role also involves integrating existing LLM functionality into the product to support conversational experiences.

Must haves

• Strong experience building user-facing applications with React and TypeScript

• Solid backend experience with Python and hands-on work with FastAPI

• Experience designing and building REST APIs

• Experience working from Figma designs and collaborating closely with product and design teams

• Experience implementing authentication flows such as OAuth2

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, small team environment with ownership of features end to end

Nice to haves

• Experience with SQLAlchemy and PostgreSQL

• Exposure to LLM integrations or tools such as LangChain

• Experience working in healthcare, health tech or other regulated environments

• Familiarity with HL7 FHIR, EHR integrations or healthcare data standards

• Experience building secure systems aligned to HIPAA or SOC2-style environments
