Interim Finance Business Partner - Operations (3-6 Month Contract)

A well established UK subsidiary of a US parent is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Business Partner to support its Operations function during a period of focused improvement. This is a hands-on, fast-paced assignment ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, solving problems, and driving tangible operational and financial outcomes.

You will partner closely with Operations leadership to resolve operational blockers, accelerate invoicing, improve revenue recognition, and enhance working capital performance. The role is highly analytical, requires strong commercial awareness, and is best suited to someone comfortable engaging directly with non-finance colleagues to encourage accountability and action.

• Act as the bridge between Finance and Operations, providing challenge, support, and clear financial insight.
• Lead deep-dive analysis into WIP, aged balances, and revenue-recognition issues.
• Develop time-bound action plans that reduce WIP and improve working capital discipline.
• Map and improve order-to-invoice processes, identifying root causes of delays and operational inefficiencies.
• Support adoption of stronger controls and standardised processes to prevent reoccurrence of issues.
• Drive daily and weekly operational reviews, maintaining pace and focus across teams.
• Produce high-quality Excel-based analysis, modelling, and reconciliations to guide decisions.

• Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner within manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, or similar operational environments.
• Strong understanding of working capital, WIP, and revenue recognition processes (US GAAP/IFRS experience beneficial but not essential).
• Highly analytical with excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Confident influencing and challenging operational stakeholders.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis outside of IR35
