Interim Integration Consultant

MRK Talent Solutions is proud to be exclusively supporting a progressive £15M t/o service business in the search for an Interim Integration Consultant, based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, following a recent merger/ acquisition of another business.

The business finds itself in a situation where the two companies are on different accounting systems that don't speak to each other. For the time being, there are no plans to change systems for either business nor to bring the recent acquisition across for 3-6 months due to the training and challenges this would involve in the short term.

This job will be report to the Head of Finance and be responsible for the initial assessment of both business' accounts and systems to create a recommended plan of action as to how to manage this situation over the coming months. The role is expected to be for a few weeks with an immediate start.

Due to the Finance Manager currently being on maternity leave, the current Head of Finance needs to outsource this planning and management process to an interim with either expert integration experience or a proven senior accountant from the service sector that can illustrate strong knowledge of relevant issues such billing, WIP and disbursements.

Some areas to consider:

• Initially understand the Acquirer's accounting processes and controls around debt, WIP and disbursements
• How will the Billing process be run across the two systems and bank accounts?
• Control and movement of any client accounts is challenging due to pre-authorisation needed by each individual
• Is the best option to set up a new business but how does this affect the pre-merger debt, billing etc.
• Coordinating with two finance teams to ensure the necessary reconciliations and reporting will be maintained with all accuracy and timeliness
• Planning the consolidation of the monthly and quarterly reporting

This is an interesting interim opportunity for a strong interim with either previous integration experience or previous service sector knowledge to assist in outlining the post-merger action plan for this well-regarded regional business.
