About the Role

This internship will play a key role in supporting the Standard Warranty Team by identifying, designing, and implementing automation solutions that streamline manual processes, enhance reporting accuracy, and improve team documentation. This role is ideal for someone passionate about process improvement, data automation, and building tools that enable operational efficiency.  The role provides hands-on experience in operational support, data management, and administrative workflows that sustain the performance of the Standard Warranty function.

Core Responsibilities:

Process Automation & Optimization

  • Learn and understand standard warranty operational processes, inefficiencies, and current workflows to identify automation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with standard warranty analysts and internal stakeholders to translate operational needs into functional automation standards.  
  • Independently develop automation tools to reduce manual data entry, repetitive tasks, and inefficient workflows. 
  • Build scripts, applications, or RPA-style solutions using tools such as Power Automate, Python, C#, Excel VBA, SQL, or other relevant technologies. 
  • Create automated reporting mechanisms and data pipelines for warranty KPIs, dashboards, and recurring metrics.

Documentation and Delivery 

  • Create clear, user-friendly documentation for all automations, workflows, and reporting tools. 
  • Maintain version control, update logs, testing notes, and user guides.

Operational Support for Standard Warranty

  • Work directly with live standard warranty data
  • Update information and support daily standard warranty operations
  • Monitor and track Global Tickets
    • Request updates and identify where workflows can be streamlined

Who are you?

The candidate should possess the following skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Proven experience creating automation solutions, demonstrated through coursework, personal projects, internships, or portfolio examples. 
  • Hands-on skills with at least one of the following automation or scripting tools: 
    • Power Automate 
    • Python (automation, data processing, web automation) 
    • Excel VBA / macros 
    • SQL-based automation 
    • C# or similar programming languages 
    • Power BI (for automated reporting pipelines) 
  • Ability to analyze complex workflows and design efficient automated solutions. 
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office
  • Skilled in analyzing and interacting with diverse system architectures while efficiently handling simultaneous technical tasks
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while proactively identifying solutions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in B.S. in Software/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics or related field at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to start of the internship.
  • A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or higher is required.
  • Summer interns may work up to 40 hours per week.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
