The Opportunity

Ribble Recruitment is supporting a school in Clitheroe with the appointment of an experienced IT Technician for a 10-week temporary assignment. This is a hands-on, site-based role providing frontline IT support to teaching staff, administrative teams, and students.

This position would suit a proactive IT support professional with previous experience working within an education environment or similar end-user setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support across the school
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and classroom technology
  • Support interactive whiteboards and AV equipment
  • Manage user accounts (Active Directory / Microsoft 365)
  • Assist with device rollouts and system upgrades
  • Ensure safeguarding and IT security compliance
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience in an IT support / IT Technician role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365
  • Experience with Active Directory and basic networking
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to work fully onsite in Clitheroe
Desirable
  • Previous experience in a school or education setting
  • Knowledge of safeguarding protocols in education environments
  • Experience supporting Google Classroom or similar platforms
Compliance

An Enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this role due to the school setting. Candidates without an active DBS will need to undergo clearance prior to start.
