Risk and Controls Manager (Financial Services Technology)

On behalf of NatWest, we are looking for a Risk and Controls Manager (Financial Services Technology) for an 8 Month contract based in Edinburgh (2-3 days per week in office).

The Role & Responsibilities:

An exciting opportunity to join a leading Financial Services organisation within Financial Crime Technology. This role sits at the intersection of technology, risk, and controls ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation and deep understanding of risk frameworks within FS environments.

You'll play a key role in ensuring robust technology risk management practices are Embedded and adhered to across platforms and control environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end technology risk frameworks
• Manage risks relating to:
  • Privileged access
  • End-of-life (EOL) technology
  • Risk & vulnerability management
  • User entitlement access
  • Security testing & controls validation
• Work closely with control testing teams and enterprise risk partners
• Create clear risk & issue templates for governance forums
• Translate complex technical issues into clear, business-friendly language
• Ensure actions are tracked and delivered within agreed timelines
• Run risk forums and host weekly control partner calls
• Strong stakeholder & relationship management across technology and risk functions

Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience:

• Strong technology background (infrastructure, security, access management, etc.)
• Proven risk & controls management experience
• End-to-end risk framework implementation experience
• Financial Services background (mandatory)
• Experience working within Financial Crime or regulated environments
• Comfortable managing senior stakeholders and governance forums
• Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and non-technical audiences
