Senior Java Software Engineer - Manchester (Remote/Hybrid)

Location: Manchester (Remote/Hybrid)
Duration: 6 months
Hours: 40 hours per week

*Urgent 6 Month Contract*

This is a *Remote/Hybrid Manchester* based role with an excellent immediate start within a Global Technology Client that is working to *Design and develop Back End services using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot*

Overview

Our client is looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join a growing Connectivity team. You'll be responsible for building and supporting Back End services, developing third-party integrations, and helping deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Back End services using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.

  • Build and maintain integrations with external APIs and partners.

  • Develop scalable APIs and connectivity solutions.

  • Improve system reliability, monitoring, and performance.

  • Support incident resolution and continuous improvements.

  • Participate in technical design, code reviews, and best practices.

  • Work closely with Product, Operations, and Engineering teams.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with Java and/or Kotlin.

  • Experience building REST APIs and Back End services.

  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS or similar).

  • Experience with SQL databases (eg MySQL).

  • Familiarity with Kafka or event-driven architectures.

  • Strong understanding of system reliability, scalability, and performance.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in travel, marketplace, or integration-focused environments.

  • Experience working within agile, cross-functional teams.
