This is a *Manchester* based role with an excellent immediate start within a Global Technology Client that is working to *define and communicate architectural strategy, partnering with engineering and product leadership to shape long-term direction.*

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to join the Trips Business Unit architecture team. This is a key role supporting multiple travel verticals including Flights, Cars, Rides, Rail, Attractions, and Insurance.

You will work alongside existing architects to define and communicate architectural strategy, partnering with engineering and product leadership to shape long-term direction. The role requires driving consistent architectural approaches across verticals-identifying common patterns, reducing unnecessary divergence, and enabling teams to learn from one another.

What You'll Be Working On

Platform Adoption

Our client is migrating business verticals onto company-wide platforms for order management, customer service, and payments. With teams at varying stages of adoption, you will guide integration and migration decisions to ensure smooth transitions and architectural consistency.

Insurance Domain

Provide architectural leadership for the Insurance vertical, supporting capability development and platform decision-making.

Front End Strategy

Contribute to shaping Front End architectural direction. Experience in this area is beneficial but not essential.

Cloud & Infrastructure

Operate within an established Amazon Web Services (AWS) ecosystem and internal cloud frameworks, guiding teams on infrastructure decisions, service selection, and architectural patterns within defined guardrails.

General Trips Architecture

Support cross-cutting initiatives across the Trips portfolio as business priorities evolve. The architecture team operates across all verticals, allocating focus where impact is greatest.

AI & Productivity

Explore practical AI tooling applications to enhance personal and team productivity, such as code assistance, documentation support, and workflow automation.

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS

• Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale

• Ability to work effectively across multiple domains and teams simultaneously

• Strong advisory and influencing skills without direct delivery ownership

• Pragmatic mindset- balancing architectural excellence with delivery realities

• Experience within a product-aligned organisation
