We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Architect to act as a technical authority across complex systems and services. You will play a key role in defining and evolving architectures that balance customer needs, architectural principles, and secure-by-design standards, while influencing strategy and delivery at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Act as the technical authority for systems and services across multiple programmes.
  • Define, evolve, and govern architectures that align customer requirements with security and architectural best practice.
  • Contribute to divisional and business roadmaps, identifying opportunities for technology insertion and innovation.
  • Lead technical reviews, trade-off studies, and risk assessments for major design decisions.
  • Mentor and coach architects and engineers, raising capability across the technical community.
  • Represent the organisation at senior customer forums, technical boards, and industry events.
  • Support business development activities, including technical design, bids, and proposal development.
  • Champion best practice, reuse, and model-based design approaches across the architecture community.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in system and service architecture within one or more domains (infrastructure, applications, data, networking, cloud).
  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, MODAF, or NAF.
  • Knowledge of 3GPP technical standards.
  • Advanced understanding of secure system design principles and cyber security standards.
  • Experience shaping architectures in Agile or SAFe delivery environments.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and provide thought leadership within a technical community.

Desirable Experience

  • Industry certifications (e.g. TOGAF, ArchiMate).
  • Vendor certifications (e.g. AWS).
  • Knowledge of mission-critical communications, emergency services environments, or related standards.
  • Experience contributing to technology roadmaps and enterprise strategy.
  • Experience working in international or multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Familiarity with service design, operational transformation, and digital modernisation.
  • Exposure to cloud-native architectures, DevSecOps, and automation.
  • Experience presenting at technical boards, customer forums, or industry conferences.
