A leading banking institution is seeking an experienced and motivated Client Onboarding Team Leader to oversee KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) onboarding processes within our growing client operations team.

In this key leadership role, you will manage a team of onboarding analysts to ensure that all new client relationships meet regulatory standards, internal risk policies, and service excellence expectations.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and develop a high-performing client onboarding team, providing guidance, training, and performance oversight. • Oversee the end-to-end KYC/AML due diligence process for new and existing clients, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements. • Conduct and review risk assessments, determining client risk ratings and escalation pathways where appropriate. • Ensure timely and accurate onboarding of clients across multiple jurisdictions and entity types (corporates, individuals, funds, etc.). • Collaborate closely with Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Relationship Management teams to resolve complex onboarding cases. • Drive process improvements and contribute to automation and efficiency initiatives within the onboarding workflow. • Monitor and report on key metrics (turnaround times, quality control, and regulatory adherence). • Support audits, regulatory reviews, and internal control testing related to KYC and AML processes.

Skills & Experience Required
• Proven experience in KYC/AML onboarding, client due diligence, or financial crime compliance within financial services (banking, capital markets, asset management, or fintech). • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a team leadership or supervisory role. • Strong knowledge of global AML regulations, FATF standards, sanctions screening, and PEP identification. • Experience handling complex entity structures (trusts, funds, corporates, and high-risk clients). • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams. • Proficiency with onboarding or compliance systems (e.g., World-Check, Refinitiv, Actimize, etc.) preferred.
