Job Title: Application Engineer - Financial Sector (Payments)

6 Month Initial Contract (Inside IR35)

Day Rate: 400 Negotiable
Location: London/hybrid

We're seeking a talented Application Engineer with a solid background in the finance or banking sector, and hands-on experience working with payment systems. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of secure, scalable software applications that directly support critical financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software applications.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate systems and ensure seamless end-to-end solutions.
Ensure application security and compliance with industry standards such as PCI-DSS.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, optimizing application performance.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
Support CI/CD pipelines and contribute to the automation of development workflows.

Skills & Experience Required

Strong background in application engineering, particularly within the financial services or banking industry.
Demonstrable experience working on payment platforms or payment processing systems.
Proficient in:
- .NET / C#
- JavaScript
- GitHub and Jira
- CI/CD tooling
Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
Experience with system integration, performance tuning, and application-level troubleshooting.
Knowledge of application security standards, particularly PCI-DSS.
