Addison Group's client is searching for an Associate Underwriter. An ideal candidate will have 4+ years of Commercial Underwriting experience. This role is hybrid in Chevy Chase, MD and pays $110-120K depending on experience. Apply here to learn more!

Key Responsibilities

Support underwriting of commercial real estate loans including acquisition, refinance, and construction projects
Analyze borrower financial statements, rent rolls, operating statements, and third-party reports
Perform property-level cash flow analysis and debt service coverage calculations
Assist in the preparation of credit memos and deal summaries for investment committee or credit review
Conduct market research and assess property values, cap rates, and comparable transactions
Coordinate with originators, legal, and asset management teams throughout the transaction process
Ensure underwriting files are complete, compliant, and properly documented
Identify potential risks and recommend deal structures or mitigants

Qualifications

4+ years of experience in commercial real estate underwriting or lending
Solid understanding of commercial real estate asset types (e.g., multifamily, office, industrial, retail)
Proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling and underwriting templates
Familiarity with key real estate metrics (LTV, DSCR, NOI, IRR, etc.)
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and organizational skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or a related field
