Job Title: HR Benefits Coordinator

Location: Shoreline, WA

Industry: Higher Education

Pay: $24.75 – $29.00/hour (based on experience)

1-2 month temporary assignment

Addison Group is partnering with a respected higher education institution in Shoreline, WA to support their search for an HR Benefits Coordinator. This organization is known for its welcoming team environment, beautiful campus, and commitment to employee development.

Job Description:

The HR Benefits Coordinator will support benefits administration and payroll coordination, serving as a key contact for employees and working closely with HR leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer employee benefits including healthcare, retirement, and other state programs
Support onboarding for benefits and help employees understand their coverage options
Manage benefit changes, open enrollment, and documentation tracking
Coordinate with payroll to ensure correct deductions and data accuracy
Process wage adjustments and audit bi-monthly payroll cycles for hourly and temporary staff
Respond to employee inquiries and troubleshoot benefits issues with a customer-focused approach
Support compliance efforts related to FMLA, ACA, HIPAA, and other regulatory programs
Maintain and update benefits data across systems and spreadsheets
Provide documentation and process support for complex payroll and benefits systems
Assist with reporting and reconciliation

Qualifications:

2–5+ years of benefits and/or payroll coordination experience
Strong understanding of retirement plans and faculty/staff benefit structures
Intermediate Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, data sorting, and manipulation)
Comfortable working in a hybrid environment after training (initially onsite)
Higher education or public sector experience preferred
Experience with CTC Link, Oracle/PeopleSoft, or similar HRIS a plus
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
