The incumbent is required to provide support towards the successful achievement of operational objectives established for Claims Department. The incumbent is responsible for settling all valid claims in an efficient and prompt manner. LOCATION : Port-of-Spain CONTRACT PERIOD : One Year SALARY RANGE : $13,000 to $15,700 1. Processing of claims : Receive claim forms and relative documents from customers Adjudication of claims within outlined service standards Preparation of liability letters as per pre authorization guidelines Consult with Supervisor on details of claims Consult with Medical support personnel on details of claims Consult with group policy contracts in relation to claim benefits 2. Maintain records/file : 100% adherence to filing standards Acknowledge/respond to correspondence 3. Review outstanding files : Review department reports as outlined by the claims manager 4. Perform other duties that may be assigned. ACADEMIC/EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE Two advanced level passes inclusive of Accounting or equivalent Minimum of five G.C.E./C.X.C passes including English Language and Mathematics Three to five years’ working experience in a similar capacity would be an asset Insurance related courses and training programme would be considered an asset SKILLS REQUIRED Adaptability Skills: Strong team player. Adequate stress handling and ability to work under pressure. Ability to learn and work quickly and efficiently. Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with internal and external customers in a courteous and professional manner. Accountability Skills: Be proactive and able to achieve aggressive goals with little supervision.
