Job Title: Java Backend Engineer – Spring/Azure
Location: Onsite – Columbus, OH
Term: 6+-Month Contract - W-2

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong Java and Spring background to support our Retail Core Operations (RCO) group. You’ll be joining a technology-forward team focused on building reliable backend systems in support of enterprise-scale operational needs. This role is 100% onsite in Columbus, OH.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend systems using Java and Spring Boot.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and integrate with cloud-based infrastructure (Azure).
Work with messaging tools (like Kafka) to ensure reliable communication between distributed systems.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews.
Support deployments, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance in a Kubernetes-based containerized environment.

Required Skills

5+ years of software engineering experience.
Proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem (including Spring Boot).
Hands-on experience with version control tools like GitHub.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

Kafka or other messaging technologies.
Experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools.
Exposure to Microsoft Azure cloud services.
