Title: Collections Associate

Location: Chantilly, VA

Pay: $23-$25/hr

Addison Group's client is searching for a Collections Associate. This role is hybrid (3 days in-office) in Chantilly, VA, paying $23-25/hr. This is a 3-6-month contract role. Apply here to learn more!

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past-due invoices from federal, state, and local government customers.
Coordinate with project managers, billing, and contracts teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and support timely collections.
Submit and track invoices through government portals such as Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), Invoice Processing Platform (IPP), or other agency-specific systems.
Communicate professionally and effectively with government contracting officers, finance teams, and internal stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records of collection activities, communications, and payment status within accounting systems.
Assist with month-end closing processes by providing updates on outstanding receivables and cash forecasts.
Support audit and compliance activities by preparing backup documentation and payment histories.
Identify trends in payment delays and escalate potential issues to senior leadership when necessary.

Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or billing—preferably within the government contracting industry.
