Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer

Job Description

Join our Desktop Support team to provide critical support in validating and executing Push Button Reset (PBR) processes across all site machines. You will be responsible for handling 2nd Line support tasks, ensuring systems are restored efficiently and securely.

Responsibilities
• Validate whether PBR is the appropriate solution for issues such as system corruption, malware, and performance problems. • Determine the best reset option between 'Keep my files' or 'Remove everything'. • Guide or remotely initiate the PBR process through Settings or Recovery Environment. • Monitor the reset progress to ensure successful completion. • Assist users in backing up their data before initiating a reset. • Restore user data and settings post-reset when applicable. • Reinstall essential software and drivers following a reset. • Apply system updates and security patches. • Reconfigure user profiles and domain settings in enterprise environments. • Troubleshoot any reset failures by analysing logs and error codes. • Utilise DISM or recovery media to repair system files. • Document all actions taken, including reset outcomes and user feedback. • Escalate unresolved issues to Level 3 or engineering teams. Essential Skills
• MUST HAVE CURRENT SC CLEARANCE! • Proficiency in Push Button Reset (PBR) processes. • Strong troubleshooting skills. • Experience with Windows 11. • Knowledge of PowerShell. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with enterprise environments is a plus. • Familiarity with documentation and reporting best practices. Job Type & Location
