Position: Finance Assistant
Location: London Borough of Harrow, Forward Drive, Harrow, HA3 8NT
Employer: Pertemps Recruitment Partnership for London Borough of Harrow
Contract Type: Temporary (initially 3 months, ongoing)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, based at Harrow Civic Hub

Pertemps is looking for a dedicated and proactive Finance Assistant to join the growing team at the London Borough of Harrow. This temporary position offers an hourly rate of up to 15.29 PAYE and comes with valuable training opportunities, strong career development prospects, and 21 days of annual leave (excluding Bank Holidays).

Key Responsibilities:

Invoice & Payment Administration: Handle invoicing, record keeping, and payment processing.
Financial Query Resolution: Liaise with suppliers, providers, and staff to resolve financial queries and discrepancies.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure procedures meet compliance standards and provide a clear audit trail.
Support Duties: Process recoupment claims, enter data into Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, maintain budget files, answer phones, and cover for staff as needed.

Requirements:

Experience in finance, preferably within the public sector.
Understanding of equality issues and commitment to Harrow Council's equal opportunities policy.
Proven experience in finance roles and managing budgets with electronic systems.
Ability to collaborate with diverse professionals and work effectively within a team.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with parents and various professionals.
