Mechanical Design Engineer with Security Clearance

Insight Global is seeking a Design Engineer for a military and commercial aircraft manufacturing company in East Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will have expertise in military engine bearing compartments and mechanical component hardware. This candidate will contribute to the Advanced Military Engines Program to help the group meet structural and functional requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop technically sound design solutions aligned with program schedule milestones, cost, and weight goals.
- Process technical and design requirements for gas turbine engine bearing compartment hardware and mechanical components.
- Design gas turbine engine hardware, including bearings, seals, castings, housings, supports, scoops, nozzles, and tanks.
- Collaborate with experienced design engineers on military engine bearing compartments, utilizing UG-NX solid modeling and other design tools.
- Communicate status and risks related to program schedule and performance metrics (cost, weight, etc.), engaging with internal and external stakeholders. Salary: $45-$70/hr
Onsite in East Hartford, CT
12 month contract with extensions REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of design engineering experience
- Mechanical design experience within aerospace or automotive industry
- Proficient in CAD tools (UG-NX, Solidworks, or similar)
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in program/project management
- Knowledge of hardware, blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing methods.
