Our client is looking for an experienced Accountant.

To, as a statutory duty, adhere to the Corporate Joint Committee's Corporate Safeguarding Policy and associated policies and procedures and to report concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of children or adults at risk. In order to support you in this, you are required to access safeguarding training at the level which is relevant to this post.

As a term of your employment you may be required to undertake such other duties and/or times of work as may reasonably be required of you, commensurate with your grade or general level of responsibility within the organisation

To support the Finance Business Partner (FBP) in the annual budget setting process including the preparation of the Medium-Term Financial Plan for both Operational Budgets and the Wider Investment Fund (Revenue & Capital)

To support the FBP in the preparation of the monthly board pack aimed at providing up to date information at Project, Programme and Portfolio levels to a range of internal and external stakeholders on all SEWCJC activity, as set-out in the Annual Business Plan.

To support the FBP with the external audit of Annual Financial Statements.

To lead on the Management Accounting arrangements for specific Projects (as allocated by the FBP), providing timely financial advice and support to Project Managers on all aspects of their Projects or Programmes.

Ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of all general ledger transactions processed via SEWCJC's accounting system to the specific Projects and Programmes, and the completeness of relevant supporting documentation for auditing purposes.

To assist with the timely and accurate processing of Balance Sheet reconciliations for SEWCJC Projects, during the year and at year-end, as required.

To support the FBP in the resolution of all performance audit queries raised by SEWCJC's External Auditors and to assist in the implementation of any Recommendations resulting from such audits.

To support the FBP in the review of. and input into the Business Case process providing financial oversight in order to mitigate risk and monitor spend and performance. Support in the review of the Financial and Commercial aspects of project proposals and business cases (SOC, OBC, FBC) received and to update the Wider Investment Fund as Business Cases are approved and implemented.

To support in the development of financial models where necessary to support the Innovation & Investment Framework and individual projects being developed as part of the process.

To assist the FBP with supervisory and management responsibilities for the Finance Business Partnering aspect of the overall SEWCJC Finance Team

To assist in the regular review of the SEWCJC Contract Forward Plan and individual procurements. Providing financial and commercial oversight in order to understand and mitigate risk.

To support the FBP with the maintaining of the accounting system (CIVICA)

To support the Corporate Joint Committee Transition Plan, in respect of finance matters, in particular, development of the accounting system, financial reporting requirements and associated policies, procedures and processes.

To undertake other such duties as reasonably required by the Head of Finance, Risk & Assurance, FBP and other members of the Senior Leadership Team.
