Job Title: Interim Financial Controller
Contract Type: Interim / Contract
Location: Leicester (Hybrid - 2 days in the office)
Rate: 400- 500 per day (Outside IR35)
Duration: 6 months
Start Date: ASAP
Reporting to: Finance Director / CFO

Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to support our finance function through a period of change and increased demand. Based in Leicester, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement (2 days in the office) and the opportunity to make an immediate and tangible impact within a growing organisation.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a commercially focused finance professional with strong technical skills and a proven ability to drive improvements across finance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and lead all aspects of financial control, including month-end and year-end close
Prepare accurate and timely management accounts and financial reports
Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with key stakeholders
Oversee cash flow, working capital, and financial risk management
Manage and mentor a small finance team, ensuring high performance and development
Support external audit processes and liaise with auditors and advisors
Drive improvements in financial controls, reporting systems, and processes
Provide business insight and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
Assist with any ongoing transformation or change projects as needed

Key Requirements:

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Previous experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance lead in a similar environment
Strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial awareness
Hands-on approach and ability to thrive in fast-paced, changing environments
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting systems (e.g., Xero, Sage, SAP)
Immediately available or available at short notice

Contract Details:

Rate: 400- 500 per day (Outside IR35)
Location: Leicester (Hybrid - 2 days in office, 3 days remote)
Duration: 6 months
Start Date: ASAP
