What You'll Do
The Center for Customer Insight (CCI) is a center of excellence for all things related to customer research and insight-driven strategy at BCG. As a Senior Analyst (SA) for CCI's Vantage team, you will play a critical role in helping customer insights projects succeed.
As a customer researcher with deep experience in syndicated / big data, you will triangulate insights from multiple data sources and methodologies to uncover forward-thinking, high-impact insights for BCG clients. You will contribute to the expansion and commercialization of CCI's portfolio of "insights infusion" offerings, i.e., products and tools that fuel BCG's client work with high-impact, external insight. These may include syndicated customer data, digital/social/search analytics or other big data sources, cultural insights, consumer foresight, and beyond.
You will act as a connector between these "insights infusion" products and BCG case teams, educating colleagues about how they bring value to strategic engagements, guiding appropriate solution use, and taking an active role in developing a roadmap for these products and tools. You will deploy these tools directly on BCG client cases, customizing applications based on client context / objectives and weaving Insights together with those derived from primary / custom quant and qual research.
In addition, you'll contribute to IP development, go-to-market enablement, and knowledge dissemination regarding these "insights infusions" offerings across BCG's commercial network. You will partner with topic leaders and knowledge experts to sharpen CCI's research-driven products and position them as must-have enablers on top client priorities.
YOU'RE GOOD AT
- Leveraging large-scale data sources (e.g., syndicated datasets, social listening, search trend data, foresight platforms) to generate strategic insights for business use
- Genuine interest in harnessing technology for consumer insights, and passion for keeping a pulse on what is new / cutting-edge in the insights realm (e.g., image recognition, image analytics)
- Synthesizing insights from multiple data types-primary, secondary, big data, cultural signals-into compelling commercial narratives
- Guiding colleagues on when and how to use different research sources / tools based on objectives
- Supporting the design, piloting, and rollout of new research/insight products
- Communicating with case teams and stakeholders, in a credible and confident way
- Working collaboratively and effectively in a group dynamic often virtual, proficient in agile ways of working
- Being flexible and bringing a curious and creative mindset, open to new things and able to propose innovative ideas
- Navigating complexity and ambiguity
What You'll Bring
- 2+ years of consulting experience including the use of syndicated customer data and/or "big data" / behavioral data OR 3+ years market research agency experience (4-6+ years of experience strongly preferred)
- Strong familiarity with secondary, syndicated, and/or digital data sources (e.g., Nielsen/IRI, Mintel, Morning Consult, YouGov's BrandIndex, social listening, search analytics / search trend tools, consumer foresight and/or cultural tracking platforms, etc.)
- Solid foundation in primary research methodology (quantitative and/or qualitative), with the ability to bridge Insights across data types
- Demonstrated experience translating data into strategic implications and commercial opportunity
- Prior exposure to sectors such as CPG, Retail, Tech, Media, Financial Services, or Travel & Leisure preferred
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in marketing, behavioral science, analytics, or related fields a plus
- Fluency in English required
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with data tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, SPSS, Q, R) is a plus
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Research (Practice Topic and Sector-Aligned Research and Insights)
- Delivers actionable research and insights tailored to the client project's needs; works with qualitative and quantitative data, conducts research and provides synthesized results from sources including commercial data, public and open source, company and industry research, macro-economic, commodities and trade data.
Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCG's Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a market leading benefits package described below.
We expect total annualized compensation for Chicago, Denver, and Boston based employees to be approximately the following:
• Base salary between $100,500 - $108,500 (USD); placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level
• Annual discretionary performance bonus between 0-24%
• 5% Profit Sharing Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution, increasing to 10% after two years of service. Contributions are vested immediately and there is no waiting period.
