Title: IT Sr Project Manager

Location: Waukegan, Illinois

Duration: 5 Months (Possibility of Extension)

100% Onsite

Experience & Background

Years of Experience Required: Minimum 5 years delivering digital/web projects.
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, or Digital Marketing.
Certifications: PMP, Agile, or Scrum Master certifications are not required but are considered a plus.

Project Scope

Key Projects: Website redesigns, content migrations, marketing campaign websites, platform migrations.
Reason for Hiring: Ongoing need for a contractor in this role; previous contractor held the role for five years.

Technical & Tool Proficiency

Web Content Management Systems: Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Frontify, React framework.
HTML & SEO: Hands-on experience not required, but awareness and past exposure are highly beneficial.
Web Analytics Tools: Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics.
Project Management Tools: Jira (preferred), Smartsheet, MS Project (less frequently used), custom trackers.
RAID Logs: Must be familiar with managing and escalating Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies.

Collaboration & Communication

Primary Stakeholders: Business stakeholders, development teams, SQA, documentation teams.
Frequent Collaborators: Marketing, IT, Compliance.
Communication Cadence: Daily stand-ups, weekly status reports to stakeholders, regular follow-ups.

Regulatory & Documentation Requirements

Regulated Environment Experience: Highly valuable due to Abbott’s life sciences context.
Digital Marketing Policies: Training provided post-onboarding; familiarity not required upfront.
Documentation: Critical due to audit requirements; includes full software lifecycle documentation and system certification.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Lead daily stand-ups and ensure RAID logs are updated.
Coordinate across workstreams (requirements, build, testing, documentation).
Build and maintain project plans.
Ensure timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
Drive documentation planning and execution.
Act as the single point of contact for all project-related matters.

Description

Working knowledge of HTML, SEO principles, and web page layout.
Knowledge and some experience in web analytics tools.
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Efficient project management with ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines. Interpersonal and customer service skills.
Desired skills: Web content management system (enterprise systems, like Adobe CMS); Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with stakeholders and bring awareness to leadership where needed;
Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members;
Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team, Department and Division management ;
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or Computer Engineering
Equivalent Duties: Digital project management bringing best practices and efficiency to the process; manages relationships with business partners - gather information, clarify
