$25 - $32/hour (W2 Contract)

Work Schedule:

Training: August 4–15 | Mon–Fri | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM MST (Attendance is mandatory)

Post-training: Flexible schedule within 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM MST window

About Our Client:

A major multi-regional health system is preparing for an upcoming EHR go-live and is seeking experienced outpatient facility coders to support a large-scale Emergency Department charge capture initiative. Coders will be engaged through a national healthcare staffing partner for a high-volume, contract-based project with potential for long-term engagement.

Job Description:

As part of this charge capture team, coders will support a system-wide transition by reviewing and posting charges for Emergency Department and Injection/Infusion services. Coders will assign CPTs for procedures, accept or override AI-assisted E&M levels, and ensure timely, accurate posting. This role does not involve diagnosis coding or AR interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Review ED facility charts within EPIC
Assign CPTs for:
- Injection & Infusion (I&I) services
- Common ED procedures (e.g., Foley, splints, casts)
- E&M facility levels using EPIC’s charge capture module
Override or accept auto-suggested E&M levels based on documentation
Maintain accuracy and productivity targets
Log daily activity via internal chat system

Qualifications:

Required:

2+ years recent hospital outpatient coding experience
Direct experience with ED and I&I coding
Certified through AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CCS, RHIT)
Familiarity with E&M facility leveling and charge capture
Comfortable working with AI-assisted documentation

Preferred:

EPIC ASAP module experience
Experience coding critical care, activation charges, or blood transfusions

Additional Details:

Work Type: Fully Remote
Equipment: Company-issued equipment provided (arrival within 5–14 days); must use personal equipment temporarily for training
Time Tracking:
- All hours must match activity in EPIC
- Daily start/end of shift must be logged via internal chat
Productivity Expectations:
- Week 1 post-training: 40–50 encounters/day
- Ongoing: 70+ ED E&M charges/day (~10 encounters/hour including procedures)
