Job Title: Interim Credit Controller 📍 Location: Shropshire (Hybrid options available) 📅 Contract: Interim – 3 to 6 months (potential to extend) 💰 Rate: Perm equivalent of £29k

About the Role:

We are currently supporting a key client in their recruitment of an experienced Credit Controller to join a dynamic finance team on an interim basis. Based in Shropshire, this role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can hit the ground running.

You’ll be responsible for managing the end-to-end credit control process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting the wider finance function during a period of transition and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Proactively chase outstanding debts via phone, email, and written communication
Monitor customer accounts and ensure timely payments in line with agreed terms
Resolve invoice and payment queries efficiently and professionally
Maintain accurate records of all credit control activity
Reconcile customer accounts and allocate payments
Produce aged debt reports and provide regular updates to management
Liaise with internal departments to resolve disputes and improve processes
Support month-end reporting and audit preparation as required

About You:

Proven experience in a Credit Control role (ideally within a similar industry)
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Confident working independently and managing a busy ledger
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle)
Available to start at short notice
