The MOD is one of the biggest public procurement organisations in Europe and the single largest customer for UK industry. SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks.

Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

As a Deputy Chief of Staff , your main responsibilities will be to:

Deliver comprehensive outer office support to two 1* executives, including diary and email management, meeting coordination, and administrative oversight.
Serve as secretariat for monthly senior management meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and action tracking.
Collate and prepare materials for monthly team briefings, executive meetings, and strategic presentations.
Support the development, planning, and execution of Business Continuity initiatives and exercises.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with senior stakeholders and their support teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

Essential:

Proven experience supporting senior executives in a high-pressure environment
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience in coordinating meetings, preparing documentation, and managing sensitive information
Experience in defence, nuclear, or government sectors
