Overview:
The national offices of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), based in Louisville Kentucky, serve with mid-councils, congregations, worshipping communities, and partner organizations to carry forth the mission of Jesus Christ. This community comprises the staff of several national entities: The Interim Unified Agency, the Presbyterian Investment and Loan Corporation, the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation, the Presbyterian Women, and the Administrative Services Group.
Position Purpose:
The Presbyterian Investment & Loan Program offers low-cost loans to Presbyterian churches and other Presbyterian related entities for renovations, new construction, and lines of credit. The Associate for Lending Services coordinates loan closings, prepares loan commitments, and gathers loan documents for the loan closings. This role requires expertise in working with title companies, reviewing loan documents for accuracy, and knowledge of banking software. Additionally, the Associate collaborates with loan committees, prepares loan packets, and records meeting minutes, ensuring all information provided is accurate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher preferably in business or equivalent business experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial or construction lending, preferably in loan closings
- Familiarity with lending software and systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in customer service or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare loan commitment letters and loan packets for borrowers.
- Organize and participate in video conference calls with borrowers and Relationship Managers to review the loan commitments and explain the loan closing process
- Order the title commitment and work with borrowers to gather other loan closing documents and schedule the loan closing.
- Prepare loan disbursements, which include the inspection and review of contractor's invoices, American Institute of Architects (AIA) contract forms, and the monitoring of projects cost for each construction draw request.
- Verification of wire instructions in accordance with policy.
- Prepare and send loa packets to committees, schedule meetings via video conference call, and record minutes of meetings.
- Contact borrowers to gather financial statements and other pertinent information for loan reviews.
- Prepare the necessary documentation to add new loans or modify existing loans in the baking software.
- Other duties as assigned by Senior Management
Required Skills:
Proven experience in banking software and Microsoft 365. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; excellent organizational and time management skills; and effective communication skills. Proven ability to work well within a team environment plus three years of direct customer experience.
Helpful Skills:
Understanding of non-profit organizations; knowledge of or experience with the Presbyterian Church (USA).
