Job Title: Payments Business Analyst Location: London Salary/Rate: £305 Per Day Inside IR35 Start Date: 18/08/25 Job Type: Initial Contract Until 30/06/26

Company Introduction: We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Payments Business Analyst with deep domain expertise across various payment schemes, including SEPA, SWIFT, Faster Payments, CHAPS, and card networks.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives:

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities and a proven track record of delivering complex payment transformation projects. This role serves as a critical link between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.

Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
• Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business and functional requirements related to payment systems and processes • Translate business needs into clear and concise user stories, use cases, and process flows

Payments Domain Expertise:
• Provide subject matter expertise across various payment types, including domestic, cross-border, real-time, and card-based payments • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes (e.g., PSD2, ISO 20022), and emerging technologies in the payments space

Project Delivery:
• Support end-to-end delivery of payment-related initiatives such as system upgrades, migrations, and new product launches • Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements

Stakeholder Management:
• Facilitate workshops and meetings with internal and external stakeholders • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams

Documentation and Reporting:
• Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, including BRDs, FRDs, process maps, and test scenarios • Support UAT and SIT phases through test case creation, execution, and defect management

Required Skills/Experience: The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Strong understanding of payment schemes, clearing systems, and the end-to-end payment processing lifecycle • Hands-on experience with ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/MX, SEPA, FPS, CHAPS, and card networks • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as PSD2, AML, and KYC • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Excel • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills • Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments

Preferred Qualifications: Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:
• Bachelor?s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field • Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile BA • Experience working in consulting, banking, or fintech environments
