Principal Network & Cyber Security Engineer with experience in Automation & Control Network design & implementation to join my client's Systems Integration team.
As a Principal Network & Cyber Security Engineer, you will assist in providing cyber security, networking, secure architectures, solutions, vulnerability & risk assessments, technologies & procedures to support projects & clients. Your role involves discovering vulnerabilities & risks in networks, software systems & data centers through ongoing vulnerability scans, monitoring network data, & ensuring hardware & software applications are up to date.
Our Systems Integration (SI) team works with high-profile clients across the energy sector, delivering bespoke automation & control solutions that enable safer & more efficient operations.
Within SI, my client is architecting clients' digital ecosystems to be inherently safe, cyber-secure & operable, integrating client source systems across IT & Operational Technology (OT) environments, securely pushing OT data into IT systems for transformation.
They design & integrate operational technology to meet business, production, & operational goals.
Principal Network & Cyber Security Engineer responsibilities
- Provide expertise in Network Design, implementation, & testing for networks supporting Automation & Control Systems Solutions
- Identify / define the network requirements for Automation & Controls solutions
- Develop Detailed Network Architecture
- Create Network Dataflow Diagrams
- Produce Cybersecurity requirement specifications
- Develop Network Schedules (IP addresses, Data communication, server & VM, Switch & firewall)
- Develop Testing procedures (FAT)
- Create Migration Strategies
- Select suitable network components
- Review deliverables from other departments & coordinate with vendors
- Support the Lead Engineer in project objectives
- Apply integration concepts across multiple vendor platforms
- Conduct Cyber Security Risk Assessments & provide mitigation guidance
- Evaluate client security posture, identify vulnerabilities & areas for improvement
- Stay updated with security trends & threats
- Support standardization of project workflows
Skills & Qualifications
Expected:
- BSc Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in Control System Network Design Engineering
- Understanding of IEC62443 & IEC 27001/2 standards
- Knowledge of Automation & Control engineering disciplines
- Experience in writing Network specifications
- Experience with multiple system implementations & control platforms
- Experience in Brownfield upgrades & replacements
- Knowledge of Rockwell & Schneider PLC / SCADA systems (advantageous)
- Thorough knowledge of engineering practices, standards, & procedures
- Knowledge of cybersecurity tools & standards
- Multi-sector & global project experience
- Problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of process automation & real-time systems
- Experience with security governance, risk, & compliance controls
- Experience with vulnerability management & penetration testing tools
