The Construction Administrator is responsible for overseeing and managing the construction administration phase of a project and administering the construction contract by directing construction administration activities and monitoring for construction document compliance.
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and 4 years of related experience or a minimum of 6 years of progressive and relevant experience in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in commonly used computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe).
- Must be able to accurately read and comprehend construction plans; keep accurate and complete records documenting daily construction activities; have strong time management and organizational skills; be able to observe significant, multiple, and simultaneous construction projects; have strong mathematical aptitude and be able to verify and check contract quantities / costs as related to contractor pay applications; be able to scale and measure distances accurately.
- Knowledge of construction contract documents, including front end documents, general conditions, and technical specifications required.
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in written correspondence with all parties associated with construction activities.
- Valid driver’s license.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules for construction contract administration services and assures projects are completed within confines of schedule.
- Assure proper communication with clients, contractors, and respective staff in order to keep each advised as of the adherence to the contract and progress of the project.
- Coordinate, lead and document construction progress meetings.
- Administer significant, multiple, and simultaneous construction projects.
- Assist with constructability reviews.
- Become thoroughly familiar with the technical plans and specifications for each construction project assigned.
- Coordinate and track shop drawing submittals, requests for information (RFI) and Contractor’s pay applications.
- Assure adherence to quality control procedures including documentation, correspondence, and proper project close-out pursuant to established procedures.
- Direct and schedule post construction services pursuant to established procedures and construction contract documents.
- Serve on Committees and Teams as requested by management.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Assist Office Manager and Construction Services Practice Area Leader in scheduling and ensuring that required quality control is applied to each project with assigned construction services staff throughout the duration of projects.
Pay: $28.84/hr. - $43.27/hr.
