Detailed Job Description:
Responsible for the administration and review of all Quality related tasks within the Prestwick Program Team. Ensuring that Quality is maintained through adherence to Internal, Customer and Regulatory requirements. Governance of manufacturing processes and the use of problem solving and improvement tools.
To execute and provide support for the key project Quality activities and ensure that associated issues are effectively reported and managed.
Support the Quality Team Leader in discharging the people issues such as the PDR, training/development, and the related responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
To actively review and develop manufacturing processes, ensuring they are maintained within control limits and product Quality is achieved. Ensure that critical processes such as Quality Management Review, Concession/Non-conformance Analysis and Archiving are managed effectively in accordance with formal processes.
Take the appropriate action to review and maintain the project QMS, compile and communicate Quality procedures and assist the Department to ensure that project procedures are developed, maintained, and deployed in line with Business requirements. Assist in the deployment of the Quality Policy strategy effectively within the project and ensure that it is reflected and delivered within the product and supporting processes.
Report regularly on the quality performance of the project, establish targets for improvement, analyse the data being generated to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
Liaise with internal and external Customers and Suppliers on quality issues and defect investigations. Provide data in relation to non-conformance and supplier metrics.
To support and contribute to the project Quality review mechanism ensuring focus on improvement and ensure that all key Quality issues are escalated within the business review structure to drive root cause correction.
Manage the Material Review Board (MRB) process ensuring that all items are appropriately dispositioned, and concessions are expedited in a timely manner. Ensure that the project manages non-conformance and corrective action effectively.
To ensure appropriate inspection planning, Last Article Inspection (LAI) and First Article Inspection/Verification (FAI/V) and delegated source inspection programmes are generated and maintained by the project.
To ensure robust review of Supplier Gap Analysis against the appropriate databases in line with Product and Project requirements.
To ensure all associated Supplier APQP Deliverables are analysed and met in line with Project Requirements.
To ensure Quality staff people processes' are managed by the project as required.
Provide support to the project in terms of being the Quality focal point for Customer, Supplier and Regulatory Authorities as appropriate.
Support the identification of training and development requirements of Quality Engineering staff through the PDR process.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Preferably be qualified to HNC level in a related Quality and Engineering discipline.
Should also possess knowledge of AS 9100 as well as regulatory authority approval, and certification requirements.
Good communication skills - interface with customers and Suppliers.
Knowledge of engineering systems and the ability to deploy the Quality Toolset.
Awareness of drawings and systems as applied within the aerospace industry.
A good working knowledge of Smartsheet & Microsoft Packages - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
Ability to travel to support Suppliers/Customer as per Project requirements.
