Job: Engine Test Engineer

Location: Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire

Duration: 3 months +

Hours: 6 am - 4 pm Mon to Thurs, 6 am - 12 pm Friday

Position Summary:

The role involves testing and validation of Rail Engines, Transmission, Powerpacks, and Cooler Groups. Familiarity with diesel engines, electrical, and electronic control systems is required.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Install into test cells and test production power products according to work instructions.
Ensure products meet testing requirements.
Accurately record data for traceability.
Keep documentation up to date and precise.
Assist in developing testing requirements for future products.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
Liaise with production on technical issues.
Collaborate with colleagues and work as part of a team.
Mentor trainees or apprentices when applicable.
Collect failure data and provide feedback to Engineering.
Work overtime as required.
Follow all health, safety, and environmental instructions.
Perform other reasonable tasks within skills and abilities.
Operate test cells that are computer-controlled, requiring basic computer skills.

Background & Experience:

Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
Some experience in testing or a related discipline.
Effective communication skills at all levels.

Qualifications/Education:

Engineering qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
Product training will be provided through mentoring.
