AI Data Scientist - Python Specialist (Contract)Location:Cambridge (Hybrid - 1 day/week onsite)
Duration:6 months
Day Rate:£400-£550/day (Outside IR35)
Start Date: End of August
A leading Cambridge-based biotech company is urgently seeking anAI Data Scientistwith strong Python skills to support the development of machine learning models for biomedical data analysis. You'll be joining a small, agile team working on projects ranging fromgenomic data interpretationtoclinical trial optimization.
Key Responsibilities:

Build and deploy ML models usingPython,scikit-learn, andPyTorch
Work withstructured and unstructured biomedical datasets(e.g. genomic sequences, patient records, imaging)
Collaborate with bioinformaticians and clinical researchers to translate data into actionable insights
Contribute to the development of internal tools fordata preprocessing,feature engineering, andmodel evaluation

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in data science or ML, ideally inbiotech or healthcare
Strong Python programming skills and experience with ML libraries
Familiarity withJupyter,Pandas,NumPy, andMLFlow
Experience working withclinical or biological datasetsis a big plus
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, research-driven environment

Bonus Skills:

Knowledge ofgenomics,bioinformatics, orclinical trials
Experience withDocker,Kubernetes, or cloud ML pipelines (AWS/GCP)
