Job Title: Infrastructure Project Manager
Type of Role: Contract
Expected Length of Contract: Long Term Consulting
Location: Fountain Valley/Irvine, CA
Hourly Range: $55-60 an hour
We are seeking an Infrastructure Project Manager to lead large-scale IT projects, including data center, network, cybersecurity, and wireless initiatives. This role will manage the full project lifecycle developing charters, scope, budgets, vendor SOWs, and communication plans while ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and against KPIs/SLA metrics. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of infrastructure project management experience, strong vendor and stakeholder management skills, and certifications such as PMP or ITIL.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee large-scale infrastructure projects, including data centers, networks, cybersecurity, wireless systems, and A/V initiatives, with budgets exceeding $5M.
- Manage the full project lifecycle, from charter creation and scope definition to budget management, vendor SOWs, procurement coordination, and final delivery.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, RAID logs, and communication strategies.
- Collaborate closely with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet technical, financial, and timeline expectations.
- Drive financial planning, reporting, and forecasting for assigned projects, ensuring transparency and cost efficiency.
- Monitor and enforce SLA and KPI metrics, identifying risks early and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Provide executive-level reporting and project status updates for leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with IT governance, security, and regulatory standards throughout project execution.
- Facilitate both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies, adapting approach based on project requirements.
- Support cross-functional alignment by acting as a liaison between technical teams, business units, and leadership.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of proven success managing enterprise-level infrastructure projects.
- Experience executing projects in data centers, networking, cybersecurity, wireless, facilities, and/or cloud environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets, vendor contracts, and procurement deliverables.
- Strong background in risk management, issue resolution, and escalation handling in high-stakes projects.
- Hands-on experience managing project schedules, dependencies, and deliverables with Microsoft Project.
- Strong financial acumen, including cost forecasting, budgeting, and cost savings valuation.
- Experience leading vendor negotiations and ensuring compliance with contracts and SLAs.
- Adept at balancing multiple projects in fast-paced, high-demand environments.
- Skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
